Professional Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) athletes are celebrated globally for their tournament dominance, often seen as unwavering individuals. But backstage, these players are much like their fans, just regular people who also struggle with real-life problems. MLBB fans are about to get a rare glimpse behind the screens. Launching on Amazon Prime Video on June 6, the new docuseries Level Up puts the spotlight on the untold, emotional journeys of pro players as they battle adversity both in and out of the arena.
The Level Up Docuseries features Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya, Michelle “Chell” Siswanto, and Cindy “Cinny” Siswanto. These three athletes open up about their real-life challenges and triumphs, pain and perseverance, all while chasing championship titles.
From Tragedy to Triumph: Sanford’s Story

Sanford, a prodigy from Team Liquid Philippines, shares the personal burden of becoming his family’s breadwinner after his father suffered a stroke. Months before entering the MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) at Esports World Cup 2024 (EWC), Sanford carried not just the country’s expectations but also a personal battle on his shoulders.
“I want the world to know that no matter how competitive tournaments are, we are still people who face real-life challenges. It’s not just about winning—we need to give importance to the things that matter most, like family”
Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya
Despite carrying this emotional weight and responsibility, Sanford recently led his team to victory in MPL Philippines Season 15. He and his team are now set to return to Riyadh for the MSC at EWC 2025.
Sisters in Grief and Glory: Chell and Cinny’s Journey

Chell and Cinny, Indonesian sisters and members of Team Vitality, endured the heart-wrenching experience in Riyadh. On the very day they arrived in Riyadh, Chell and Cinny suffered the loss of their grandfather. Despite their grief, they mustered the courage to represent their country in the MLBB Women’s Invitational (MWI) at EWC 2024. To them, taking part in the docuseries means representation for women. It’s a victory that allows them to share their story and inspire young female pro players.
“With this docuseries, we would love to see our fans stay passionate about their love for the game and esports. If you truly love this path, I hope you pursue it wholeheartedly and do it for yourself and the people you love”
Cindy “Cinny” Siswanto
“We feel honored and truly grateful to be included in the docuseries. It’s a meaningful opportunity to represent women in gaming who share the same struggles.”
Michelle “Chell” Siswanto
Promoting Representation and Resilience in Esports
According to Ray Ng, Head of Esports Ecosystem at MOONTON Games, the docuseries reflects the global presence and inclusive values of MLBB esports.
“Having MLBB pro players, highlighting mobile esports participants featured in an international docuseries, is a reflection of MLBB’s expansive global presence. More Importantly. This docuseries provides our talents like Sanford, Chell, and Cinny, a platform to share their inspiring stories of grit and determination with the global audience.”
“We are proud of Chell and Cinny for their rightful inclusion in the docuseries… We hope that their stories continue to inspire young girls who look up to them to take up space in esports.”
MLBB has led the charge for inclusivity. At last year’s inaugural Esports World Cup, it was the only title to host both an open professional tournament and a competition exclusively for women. This year, MWI at EWC 25 features 16 teams, and MSC at EWC 25 welcomes new Wild Card slots for Japan and Vietnam, boosting its global footprint.
